The idea of finding new and unknown avocado varieties can contribute to the effort of growing this amazing crop. There are probably thousands trees that people grow from seeds in their backyard, streets or from an avocado pit that came from a squirrel lunch one day.
I have a story here about a tree I found behind a restaurant, I was told one of the workers planted an avocado seed about 24 years ago they were saying that the fruit is pretty good and they have enjoyed eating avocados of it for years.
the tree is a tall upright tree around 30 ft tall and the year I discovered the tree it was loaded with fruits it seemed to be a Hass seedling.

I took some fruits let it ripen to see for my self how it tastes and I found the taste very strong. The seed was on the large side and Hass and other approved varieties had better fruit quality.
What I can say is that this tree might not become a new break through variety but still lots of people enjoy its abundant fruits. Interesting thing is that the tree was among lots of landscape plants and was getting same irrigation and not any special care and still produced abundantly.
I named the tree Buffet hence the name of the restaurant. I still pass from there intentionally and admire the beauty of that tree and watch its change during seasons.
