The Ability of an Avocado Tree to Adapt

Have you ever seen an avocado tree growing and fruiting without getting proper care? No watering, no fertilizing and etc. The tree has to contend with various environmental factors and challenges to survive, grow and bear fruit. I found an avocado tree that was forgotten and had managed to live and produce fruit without any attention.

Below I’ve listed some factors that I think help the tree adapt and survive:

1. Proper root development: Helps the tree access nutrients and water. Most trees in harsh conditions spread their roots deep and wide to maximize resource intake.

2. Access to sunlight: The branches find their way to protect or expose themselves from the sun. Proper amount of sunlight is crucial for photosynthesis, a process that helps the tree to produce fruit and energy.

3. Wind resistance: the tree develops strong trunk and extend It's growth in the areas that is protected from wind.

4. Adjusting the growth: The tree slows the growth rate to live with limited resources.

We at AvocadoTreeGrowers propagate our trees to be adaptable and strong as much as they can be. For most growers utilizing greenhouse and synthetic fertilizers are two essentials to operate. These two help the growers to reduce the time needed to grow the trees but the chance of survival for these types of trees after planting would be low. We proudly focus on growing, developing and delivering trees that can grow and bear fruits for decades.
