Avocado Trees are truely fascinating! some bloom as early as November like Mexicola Grande and some as late as June like Reed! each year will be slightly different depends on the tree production last year and the weather.
One would think if you get tons of flower on your tree you would also get lot's of fruit, It's true that a tree's potential for producing depends of flowers but there are also different factors that contribute to a good crop set, like weather, polinators, soil nutrients. So if you don't see flowers on the Hass or Gem or Edranol yet don't worry as some avocado varieties are late bloomers. early bloomers are like Pinkerton ,Fuerte and Mexicola Grande and late bloomers like Reed, Gwen and sometimes Lamb and worth mentioning some bloom twice a year like Super Hass (Carmen) and as your trees get older the bloom period also extends which is great as the potential for good crop set also increase.
Now tell us about your avocado tree/trees how are they doing during this time of year? getting ready to bloom, blooming or just not there yet. we would love to hear from you!
